“Booster Club”


November 17-19, 2000 - Thanks to a generous $2,000 contribution from WorldCom Global Relay, a total of over four thousand dollars was raised at Deaf Expo 2000 which took place at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. This brought the total raised to over $15,000.

November 19-21, 1999 - Fundraising goes over the $10,000 market for the first time thanks to Russ Bye and Linda Cummings who manned the ASL Ranch exhibit during Deaf Expo '99 at the San Diego Concourse in San Diego, California.

November 13-15, 1998 - The ASL Ranch project, headed by Anna Petrillo and Russ Bye, raises over $1,000 in donations during Deaf Expo '98 held at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California.

Saturday, May 9, 1998 - EFTC coordinates two fundraising activities during their third DEAF FLEA MARKET held at the Burbank Armory in Burbank, CA which raised a total of 53 donations totaling $859.00 bringing the total amount raised to date to $6,125.55. A total of $50,000 needs to be raised as the first step towards the $2 million needed for property purchase and required modifications.

ASL Ranch Coordinator Linda Cummings announced six Donor Clubs: the Gold Club, Rock Club, Brick Club, Wood Club, Rope Club, and the $5+ Booster Club.

November 14-16, 1997 - During Deaf Expo '97 at Fairplex in Pomona, California, EFTC announces the first step which is to raise $50,000 as part of a concerted effort to obtain matching funds. ASL Ranch Coordinator Linda Cummings launches the '$5+ Booster Club' The names of all patrons who donate $5 or more would be listed on ASL Ranch 'triangle decal' during the Deaf Expo show, on EFTC's website on the internet, and added to the ASL Ranch Name Scroll in EFTC's national bi-monthly 'DEAF USA' publication. Eighty people made contributions including our friend Mary Anne Meade with General Motors Corporation who presented a check for $1,000 and a $100 contribution from the Los Angeles Center of the Deaf (LACD).

January, 1995 - Long-term mutual fund account opened with Twentieth Century Investors (since renamed American Century) in Kansas City, Missouri which continues to this day. All donations are directed to this account and no funds are withdrawn from this account at all as to maximize the fund's growth.

Saturday, November 12, 1994 - Mary Anne Meade representing General Motors Corporation presents Maureen Yates, 'Miss Deaf America 1994', with a donation during the 1994 ASL Festival to formally kick off the ASL Ranch fundraising project.
